ABU NABA’A Soraya

Soraya Abu Naba’a is a contemporary Dominican-American artist whose multidisciplinary practice moves between painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, and textile-based forms. Born in Melbourne, Florida and raised in Santo Domingo, she brings together Caribbean sensibility, Middle Eastern heritage, and an international education shaped by Paris, Florence, New York, and London. Her work transforms botanical references, biological forms, ancestral memory, motherhood, and ecological consciousness into fluid compositions of color, rhythm, and movement. In 2025, her installation Palo vivo: Entre raíces y memorias was awarded at the 31st National Biennial of Visual Arts in Santo Domingo, affirming the cultural and contemporary relevance of her practice. Abu Naba’a brings a vital feminine voice to Gary Nader Art Centre’s dialogue with Latin American, Caribbean, and international contemporary art.
